Research devoted to enhancing knowledge of governance and public policy
Our Centre investigates governance and public policy in Australia and globally. It hosts one of the greatest concentrations of research-only scholars in the political science discipline in Australia. Our research programs focus on nine key themes, reflecting the wide-ranging, diverse and complex nature of governance and public policy. These themes include: Global Health Governance; Policy and Capacity; Comparative Political Philosophy; International Political Economy and Global Governance; Environment, Resources and Sustainability; Federalism, Regionalism and Devolution; Public Integrity and Anti-corruption; Leadership and Democratic Governance; and People, Elections and Parties.
The Centre is a key part of the political science and public policy community at Griffith University, rated well above world standards in the 2012 and the 2015 Excellence in Research Australia review. Griffith University has been awarded the third highest number of Australian Research Council Discovery political science grants since 2000, and since 2003 is second in the number of A* journal articles, and first in A* International Relations articles.
