If you're an international student completing high school in Australia, here's everything you need to know about applying to Griffith University, from applying through QTAC to accepting your offer.

Step 1 Choose your degree

Step 2 Apply through QTAC

If you're an international student currently completing Year 12 at an Australian high school, you can apply to Griffith University through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

Applying with a Griffith registered agent or provider

A Griffith registered agent or provider can guide you through your application and support you every step of the way.

Find a registered agent

If you're working with a Griffith registered agent or provider, you'll need provide the agent’s details when you are applying through QTAC.

If you miss nominating a Griffith registered agent or provider when you apply through QTAC, you will need to:

Complete the Agent Appointment form. Download the form here.
Email this to AustraliaNewZealandAdmissions-GI@griffith.edu.au and make sure you quote your QTAC Reference Number.

When to apply

Planning to start in Trimester 1? Make sure you submit your QTAC application by the published deadlines.
Check QTAC key dates on the QTAC website.

Missed the QTAC deadline?

If you’ve already graduated from an Australian high school in a previous year or missed the QTAC deadline, you may still be able to apply directly to Griffith through our International Application System.

Step 3 Receive your Conditional Offer

If you're eligible, you’ll receive a conditional offer for the highest Griffith University degree listed in your preferences.

A conditional offer means your place is secured, as long as you meet certain entry requirements. See step 4 for more details on entry requirements.

You may receive offers from more than one university.

Changing your preferences

If you’d like to be considered for a different program, please reply to the email you received with your letter of offer, rather than changing your preference through QTAC.

Year 12 Early Offer Guarantee

Early offers can be made for eligible programs for students who have applied. Offers will be made to eligible applicants between September and November.

As soon as you submit your documentation, you will be considered in one of the offer rounds.

Step 4 Check your entry requirements

To prepare, make sure you understand the entry requirements for your chosen degree:

ATAR requirement: Each degree has a minimum ATAR. Check the entry score for your degree on the degree finder.

English requirements: You must have a minimum grade of C in Units 3 and 4 of English, English as an Additional Language, or meet the standard through an approved English language test.

Please note that the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery have additional English requirements, please see the details on the degree finder.

For programs that require a higher English score (shown in each degree listing on the degree finder, for example, IELTS 7.0), you must also have completed the last two years of high school in Australia.

Additional requirements: Some degrees may have extra requirements like subject prerequisites, auditions, interviews or portfolios.

Adjustment factors: You may be eligible for adjustment factors; these are additional points added to your ATAR (or selection rank) to support your university application.

Step 5 ATAR results released, receive your offer

ATAR results are released in December.

Once you have met the entry requirements Griffith University will email you an updated offer directly.

If you apply through a Griffith registered agent or provider, we will email your updated offer directly to them.

Step 6 Accept your offer

You can accept your offer once QTAC releases ATAR results and you’ve met all the conditions listed in your offer letter.

How to accept your offer

First, you must log in to the International Application System and select 'Respond to your offer'.

If you have applied through a Griffith registered agent or provider, you will need to sign your Acceptance of Offer form and then submit this through the International Application System.

You will then need to complete the following steps:

Provide any supporting documents listed in your offer letter.
Pay your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the full duration of your student visa.
Pay one trimester of tuition fees.

Once your acceptance is processed, we’ll be in touch with your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), which you’ll need for your student visa application.
