Turning Olympic experience into degree credit

Reaching the Olympic Games demands extraordinary commitment, discipline and years of focused development. Through this journey, athletes develop advanced skills, resilience and a strong foundation of lifelong learning.

As the exclusive Australian Olympic Pathway University in partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee, Griffith University recognises this experience through credit transfer towards eligible undergraduate degrees.

For athletes who have competed at an Olympic Games, verified by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Griffith University awards credit transfer of up to 40CP Level 1 Flexible Module Electives towards an undergraduate program, where the program requirements permit.

Students must provide a letter from the AOC confirming that they have:

  • signed the Australian Olympic Team Member Agreement,
  • completed all required integrity-related courses (relating to anti-doping and prevention of competition manipulation), and
  • held themselves in accordance with the Olympic Charter, AOC Team Rules, Ethical Behaviour By-Law, and Code of Conduct.

To receive recognition of your dedication as an Olympic athlete towards your degree, please contact us with a copy of this letter. Our team will review your request and award credit in accordance with your degree requirements.
