What is an Information Asset?
An Information Asset is a collection of information, defined and managed as a single unit so it can be understood, shared, protected and utilised effectively.
What is an Information Asset Register (IAR)?
Listing our Information Assets in an Information Asset Register ensures that the University's information is identified, defined and organised in a way that will facilitate access to and re-use of this information. An IAR will assist to avoid any unnecessary duplication of information, systems and processes.
IAR information can be made available in accordance with the Right to Information Act 2009. For further details please see Accessing Information.
