The Griffith Student Academy of Excellence now offers early entry membership to high-achieving students at Queensland high schools. Members receive free mentoring from outstanding Griffith undergraduates, access to exclusive development workshops and university events, and gain a head start that continues into their degree.
Why join?
No cost
Membership is free for your school and students. There is no fee at any stage.
Safe and supported
Mentors are high-achieving Griffith undergraduates who hold a current blue card and receive ongoing training.
Complements, not competes
There is no assessment and nothing that competes with schoolwork. Students take part in what suits them and the program supports their academic success in school.

What membership offers your students
Mentoring from students who have just been there
Members have access to high-achieving Griffith undergraduates who finished school only recently. Mentors are trained to provide academic support through collaboration, not to do the work, so students build skills and independence.
Guidance covers study skills, goal setting, academic writing, time and stress management, and planning for study and career.
Sessions are online and built around what each student needs.
Access to Griffith events, workshops and systems
Members are invited to join personal and professional development workshops alongside undergraduate members.
They are invited to an Academic and Career Exploration Day at a Brisbane campus.
They gain Griffith library borrowing access and secure online spaces using their own Griffith ID.
A membership that continues into their degree
Membership in Year 11 and 12 guarantees continued Academy membership when a student begins as a Griffith undergraduate.
Undergraduate membership opens further opportunities, including scholarships, overseas study and mentoring with academic and industry experts.

Griffith built this program to recognise and extend high-achieving students during their senior years and partner with schools who are already doing this valuable work.
This co-curricular program strengthens students' academic skills and achievement, complementing your teaching rather than competing with it. Our mentors support students through collaborative learning, while teaching and assessment stay with you.
Your students gain genuine tertiary education experiences and a meaningful first step towards university success. Your school also gains a no-cost enrichment opportunity that sits alongside, and adds to, the curriculum.
The program asks very little of staff. You identify students who would benefit, share one link, and we’ll guide them through the rest of the process.

Email sae@griffith.edu.au to confirm your school’s intention to nominate students for membership. If you would like further information, you are most welcome to request an online meeting or a school visit.

Who can take part?
School staff are asked to share the application link with students who:
- are currently in Year 10 and expected to continue at your school into Years 11 and 12
- demonstrate high academic achievement, with A or B grades, on an ATAR pathway
- are genuinely interested in connecting with like-minded students and mentors during their senior years.
What do students need to provide in their application?
The application from will ask students to provide:
- a statement outlining their reasons for seeking membership, including academic and career aspirations
- a completed and signed parent/guardian consent form (downloadable from the application form)
- a copy of their most recent Year 10 school report
- the name and email address of a staff member at their school who is happy to endorse their application.
