Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, permanent humanitarian visa holder, international student or New Zealand citizen
  • have completed your undergraduate study at an Australian or New Zealand university and achieved a GPA of 5.5 or above
  • be enrolled to commence full-time, or have applied by the closing date to commence full-time, in Trimester 1 2024 in one of the following one-year Griffith Sciences honours degrees at Griffith University:
    • Bachelor of Sciences (Honours) (2125)
    • Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) (2020)
    • Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) (2123)
  • not be in receipt of any other scholarship funded by Griffith Sciences.

Study details

  • Program (continuing students): Academic merit—minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 5.5.
  • Tertiary education history (commencing students): Academic merit—minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 5.5.
  • Program preferences (commencing students).
  • Honours and research topics: Supply information relating to a specific research topic/project you will undertake and identify a principal supervisor.

Statements

To give yourself the best chance, we recommend you complete the personal statement, all statements you complete will be considered.

  • Personal statement: In 500 words or less, detail your career goals and aims following completion of your honours studies.
  • Supporting documentation—other: You must upload a copy of your transcript if your undergraduate degree was not completed at Griffith University. Please upload the following formats only: PDF, Word, JPEG or Excel. We cannot guarantee other formats will be accepted.

Value

Maximum value is $6,000, paid in instalments. Instalments of $3,000 are payable in Trimesters 1 and 2, provided conditions are met.

Payment

Payments are made within six weeks after the census date, subject to the recipient satisfying the scholarship terms and conditions.

Sponsor details

The Pro Vice Chancellor (Griffith Sciences) Academic Excellence Honours Scholarships are funded by the Office of Dean (Research), Griffith Sciences. A select number of scholarships will be jointly funded (50%) by the relevant Centre or Institute, determined by the area of research and principal supervisor of the applicant. These include:

To remain eligible for the scholarship, the recipient will be required to:

  • remain full-time enrolled at Griffith University in the Griffith Sciences honours degree for which the scholarship was awarded
  • maintain a minimum GPA of 5.5
  • study in consecutive trimesters.

Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
