Encouraging female leaders in the MBA program

The MBA Sustainable Leadership Scholarship for Women has been established to encourage more women to become future leaders.

Griffith Business School’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) Sustainable Leadership Scholarship for Women provides support to women who are commencing the MBA and related Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (GCBA) and Graduate Certificate in Leadership Management (GCLM) pathway programs.

Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
  • identify as female
  • be eligible for admission to and commence, in the awarding trimester, one of the following:
    • 5158 Master of Business Administration (MBA): South Bank, Gold Coast, Online
    • 3047 Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (GCBA): South Bank, Gold Coast, Online
    • 3267 Graduate Certificate in Leadership Management (GCLM): Online
  • not be in receipt of another scholarship or bursary funded by Griffith Business School.

  • Referee reports. You must have one referee report that supports your application (can be attached to your CV or via the application email).

Statements

  • Personal statement: In 500 words or less, outline how the scholarship will support your current and/or aspirations in leadership.
  • Supporting documentation: You must upload the following:
    • Any relevant supporting documentation that will qualify your personal statement.
    • CV no more than four (4) pages including a referee report—detail any recent academic
      achievements and/or work history.

Value

Maximum value of $5,000, payable towards tuition fees made as a single payment on confirmation of enrolment in the degree for which the scholarship was awarded.

Payment

Contributions to the recipient's Student Contribution Charges (HECS)/tuition fees are made prior to census date subject to the recipient satisfying the scholarship's terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients must:

  • accept and enrol in the program by the close of enrolment in your commencing trimester of study:
    • Master of Business Administration:  South Bank, Gold Coast, Online (5158)
    • 3047 Graduate Certificate in Business Administration: South Bank, Gold Coast, Online
    • 3267 Graduate Certificate in Leadership Management: Online
  • not be in receipt of another scholarship or bursary funded by Griffith Business School.

Please also note:

    • The scholarship can’t be deferred and must be applied in the trimester for which it was awarded. Students not enrolled or who withdraw from studies after census will forfeit their scholarship.
    • This scholarship is only valid for courses within the MBA, GCBA and GCLM programs. It excludes all other Accelerated Online, and Open University Australia (OUA) programs and courses.
    • Applications, including referee reports and any supporting documentation must be completed and submitted by the closing date.
    • The scholarship recipients will be liable for all other fees including any incidental fees (such as textbooks and course specific material) as well as any other fees levied that do not relate to the MBA, GCBA and GCLM course fees that are awarded as part of the scholarship.
    • The scholarship will be provided as an offset to the student’s tuition fee prior to the census dates each trimester.
    • Recipients agree to participate in reasonable promotional activity related to the scholarship, at the School's request.

Offers are made via email. Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
