Intergenerational Healing. A creative First Nation approach to wellbeing.
This project explores how creative and cultural practices can support healing from intergenerational trauma in First Nations communities. The project will work with First Nations people in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to share stories and experiences of healing. The goal is to learn from lived experiences and cultural knowledge to better understand healing across generations and support community wellbeing.

This project respects First Nations Data Sovereignty and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP). ICIP refers to the right of First Nations peoples to control how their cultural knowledge and stories are used. Everyone who participates in this project can guide how their knowledge is used, determine the conditions for sharing and recording, guide how materials are used. Cultural protocols will always be respected.
This project explores the following research questions:
How can creative and cultural practices contribute to long-term collective healing for First Nations People?
What new theories and resources for intergenerational healing can be derived & shared from diverse First Nations People’s existing stories of healing and strengths?
What information and resources do local First Nations families & communities want and need to lead their own intergenerational healing?
How can creative and cultural healing help alleviate international wellbeing inequality arising from intergenerational trauma?
