Education, Change and Sociotechnical Futures

Group lead: Dr Jason Zagami

The Education, Change and Sociotechnical Futures Research Group examines how educational futures are produced through technological, cultural, social and institutional change. Rather than treating the future as a distant destination, the group investigates how change is initiated, interpreted, negotiated, resisted, governed, implemented and sustained. Its research spans learning and teaching, curriculum and assessment, professional judgement, equity and inclusion, digital culture, educational authority, leadership and policy. Working collaboratively with educational systems, professionals and communities, the group seeks to understand and shape change so that emerging educational futures remain intellectually rigorous, socially just, professionally sustainable and democratically accountable.
