Why is this study being conducted?
This research study is testing a potential new treatment for Diffuse Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis (dcSSc), a rare autoimmune disease that causes thickening and hardening of the skin and can affect internal organs, leading to serious health problems.
The purpose of this research study is to to see whether an experimental drug called MTX-474 can slow or stop dcSSc from worsening.
Who is eligible to participate in this study?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have a diagnosis of diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis
Applicants who express interest in participating in this study will be reviewed and contacted as other requirement criteria must also be met.
What happens during the study?
Trial duration will be up to 8 months and you will have about 9 trial visits.
Trial site visits will occur at the Griffith University Clinical Trial Unit on the Gold Coast.
You will be assigned randomly by chance (like the flip of a coin) to receive the study drug or placebo.
Volunteer to participate
Participation in this study is completely voluntary, and participants can decide to withdraw at any time.
Eligible participants will be reimbursed for their travel associated with each study visit.
