PhD Candidate and Research Assistant
Khy Reid is a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant at Griffith University. His doctoral research investigates the concept of police misconduct harm from public, police, and organisational perspectives, in addition to exploring how harm influences disciplinary processes in the Queensland Police Service (QPS). The research aims to inform more effective, accountable, and democratic policing policy. Khy has also published on differences in violent police behaviour across on- and off-duty contexts.
As a research assistant within the Griffith Criminology Institute, Khy has contributed to projects on police mental health and wellbeing, women in policing, police training, the use of body-worn cameras, and recruit decision-making. He has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, including data management, statistical and thematic analysis, drafting research outputs, and supporting multidisciplinary teams across various criminological topics.
