2026 entries now open

Proudly supported by Sony Australia through their Film School Education Support Program, this is your chance to take your creative career to the next level.

Upload your business plan and pitch video

Submit your files by 1 November to enter the competition. When prompted, use this password: Sony

The winner will score a Sony FX2 full-frame cinema camera – a powerhouse tool for filmmakers, content creators, and visual storytellers. Whether you're shooting behind-the-scenes of your indie game, crafting a music video, or launching your next animation series, this camera is your ticket to cinematic excellence.

Submissions are welcome from Griffith Film School students set to graduate in 2026. Whether you're flying solo or teaming up with classmates - we want to see bold ideas, creative vision, and a clear plan for how this prize will launch your career after graduation.

Tell us how you’ll use the FX2 to bring your creative dreams to life. Will it help you:

  • Capture the magic of your next indie game, animation, music video or short film?
  • Build a killer social media presence?
  • Or something totally unexpected?

Submit a one-page business plan explaining how the camera will help kickstart your career and why you should win. Top it off with a video pitch between 30 seconds - 1 minute long that shows us your passion and vision (keep in mind we might show this video at the gala!)

Finalists will be judged in consultation with industry, and the winner will be announced live on stage at our Awards Gala on Friday 27 November at Emporium Hotel, South Bank. You’ll need to be there to accept your prize, and we'll show your pitch video on the big screen!

Q: Do I need to be present at the awards gala to win this prize?

A: Yes - the winner will be announced live on stage!

Q: What should be in my video pitch?

A: This should be you or your team showing your presentation skills through a piece to camera - keep it simple! No music, no fancy graphics - just introduce yourself and outline your idea!
