Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne is a meteorologist, science communicator and climate risk specialist whose work has helped translate complex weather and climate science into practical information for communities, industry and governments.

Over more than a decade in meteorology, Jackson progressed from Graduate Trainee Meteorologist to senior leadership roles, providing severe weather forecasting, public safety communications and operational support across Australia and Antarctica. He became a recognised voice in weather and climate communication, helping explain complex scientific information through television, radio and digital media.

More recently, Jackson contributed to Australia's inaugural National Climate Risk Assessment and served as Lead Author of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Technical Report. This nationally significant work identified climate risks facing First Nations communities and helped inform future climate adaptation planning across Australia.

Throughout his career, Jackson has remained committed to turning scientific knowledge into practical outcomes. He is particularly proud of helping connect climate science with real-world decision-making, enabling climate-sensitive industries and communities to better understand and manage risk.

Away from work, Jackson is an avid photographer whose landscape photography has been licensed internationally. He is also writing his second book, exploring the life of his great-grandfather, a Torres Strait Islander soldier who served during the Second World War.
