The National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies Honours Scholarship is available to a highly motivated student who has recently completed their undergraduate degree with a major in Islamic Studies/Islam-West Relations. Students will need to be enrolled in or eligible for admission into a Bachelor's with Honours degree hosted by the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science.

The maximum value is $5,000, payable in instalments.

Can I apply?

To be eligible you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • have recently completed an undergraduate degree with a Major in Islamic Studies/Islam-West Relations
  • be enrolled in or eligible for admission into an Honours degree hosted by the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science, full-time or part-time

Value

Maximum value is $5,000 paid in instalments.  Instalments of  $2,500 are payable for each full time enrolled trimester  up to  maximum value of the scholarship or minimum duration of the program, whichever is the lesser. Pro-rata payments for part-time study.

Payments are made within six weeks after the Census Date subject to satisfying scholarship Terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, you will be required to:

  • remain enrolled at Griffith University in the Honours degree hosted by the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science.
  • maintain good academic standing at Griffith University.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at Census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.

Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.
