Mr Hosaka-Zaniewski has chosen to make an impact on the next generation of globally responsible business leaders through the creation of the Ramen Danbo Business Scholarship. The focus of the scholarship is to help Japanese students studying at Griffith University who demonstrate talent to realise their full potential.

The Ramen Danbo Business Scholarship was established for commencement in Trimester 1, 2024.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply you must:

    • Be an International student with Japanese citizenship.
    • Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of International Tourism and Hotel Management.
    • Be a full-time (40 CP ) continuing student in Trimester 1, 2024,
    • Have a minimum GPA in current program of study at Griffith of 4.0 or above on a 7-point scale or equivalent.
    • Not be in receipt of another International Scholarship.

Apply for the scholarship

Process

  • Apply for the scholarship by the 9 March 2024. You will need to include a 500 word (maximum) personal statement providing details about yourself and your personal attributes in contributing to a globally responsible business environment, e.g. potential to achieve at Griffith University, difficulties/challenges to your home life/study, career/life aspirations, community/university involvement, other interests or extracurricular activities.
  • Your scholarship application will be reviewed and assessed by a panel, and any decision made will be final.
  • We will let you know the outcome of your application. The selection panel's decision is final and no further correspondence will be made once students are notified of the outcome.

Receiving the scholarship

  • The scholarship will be applied upon award, normally by the census date of Trimester 1. You must pay the remaining balance of fees, based on your enrolment, by census date.
  • To maintain the scholarship deduction you must be enrolled full-time in your program, unless credit prevents full-time enrolment.

Terms and conditions

The recipient may hold the Scholarship subject to:

  • The Scholarship covers $5,000 towards tuition fees only, applied by the census date.
  • Students must be international fee paying to qualify for the scholarship. Any change from International Fee Paying student status will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.
  • Student must be a Japanese continuing student enrolled in a Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of International Tourism and Hotel Management program.
  • Should a student withdraw or cancel for any reason, the scholarship amount is non-refundable.
  • Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted.
