It all started when...

“It all started when I saw my cousin studying and living abroad.”

Inspired by her cousin who was studying abroad, Dayoung knew she wanted to step out of her comfort zone and contribute to something meaningful. She also knew that she wanted to experience a beach-lifestyle. This made it an easy choice to study a Bachelor of Nursing at Griffith University on the Gold Coast.

Why I chose Griffith

“I wanted to study on the Gold Coast because I had always dreamed of experiencing the coastal beach lifestyle. Among the universities here, Griffith stood out as the most established and well-known.

The Gold Coast campus is perfectly located—close to the coastline, and with a tram stop right in front of the university, it’s easy to access all the best spots around the city. Most importantly, Griffith has an excellent reputation for nursing education, which made it the perfect choice for me.”

Learn, connect and grow

“Griffith is a wonderful university with so many opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. But at the end of the day, your experience and satisfaction really depend on what you put into it. It’s about the choices you make and the effort you bring—if you take initiative and get involved, Griffith will give you an incredibly rewarding journey.”

Life on the Gold Coast

“The Gold Coast has that city hustle and bustle if you want it, but within a 10-20 minute drive you can be surrounded by incredible natural scenery. That balance is something really special.”

Practical experience

"Placements have definitely been the most important part of my growth as a nursing student. Looking back, my clinical skills and critical thinking have developed so much from my very first placement to my final year now."

Future-ready

“Griffith has supported me in many practical and personal ways to prepare for my future career. I can't wait to give back to the community when I graduate.”

Personal growth

“When I first came to Australia, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I was excited, but I also worried about whether student life here would suit me ... Over time, as I discovered and joined different student activities at Griffith, those fears faded away.”
