Honours research
Undergraduate students who have completed their degree, met the entry requirements for honours, and discussed project possibilities with our staff, are invited to enrol within the School of Environment and Science. The closing date for enrolment is the last business day in October, to commence study the following year.

Academic entry requirements
An applicant for admission as a PhD student must hold:
- a bachelor degree with first-class honours or second-class honours (Division A) or a masters degree, incorporating a significant research component (eg half an academic year), from a recognised institution; or
- a record of research (eg publications in refereed journals); or
- a qualification granted by a professional or other body deemed by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School, to be of a standard comparable to a bachelor degree with second-class honours (Division A).
An applicant for admission as an MPhil student must hold:
- a bachelor degree with first-class honours, second-class honours (Division A or Division B) or a masters degree, incorporating a significant research component (eg half an academic year), from a recognised institution; or
- a record of research (eg publications in refereed journals), or a qualification granted by a professional or other body deemed by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School, to be of a standard comparable to a bachelor degree with second-class honours (Division B).
English language entry requirements
All research candidate applicants are expected to have reached an appropriate level of proficiency in English. International applicants must provide documentary evidence of their English language proficiency (ELP). Section 7.5 of the Higher Degree Research Policy gives full details.
Scholarships
Research student scholarships can cover tuition fees, living allowances and publication assistance
How to apply
Once you have the agreement of a Centre for Quantum Dynamics staff member to supervise your degree, and you meet the entry requirements, you can apply online through Griffith Graduate Research School. The online service includes application for admission to the research degree and application for scholarships. If you have trouble applying online, help is available.
