The Future Leaders Retreat is a 3-day residential retreat focused on leadership and personal development

John F. Kennedy once said that leadership and learning are indispensable from one another, and here at Griffith we couldn’t agree more. Through a three day program of inspiring sessions, our Future Leaders Retreat aims to help students entering Year 12 prepare for both a successful year ahead and a smooth transition to university.

The retreat is an exclusive invitation-only event for high-achieving students. If you believe you have what it takes, talk to your guidance officer about your eligibility for nomination.

What our attendees can look forward to

At Griffith University’s Future Leaders Retreat you’ll have the chance to network, learn, develop leadership skills and make lifelong friends. Our featured speakers include leading researchers, personal development coaches and professional skills specialists, who can offer valuable insights and guidance to help you on your path to becoming a future leader.

Of course, it's not all hard work. Students will also enjoy interactive sessions, social events and optional sports classes to help them blow off steam and have some fun. This three-day event is all-inclusive, with catering and single-sex accommodation provided.

What our past students have said about the Retreat

Portrait of Natalie Durack

In the final week of the school holidays, I attended the Griffith University Future Leaders Retreat. The retreat was an amazing experience, which included a variety of both educational and leisure activities such as drumming lessons, acting workshops and sport sessions. Throughout the three-day camp, we had the privilege of listening to inspirational speakers such as Commonwealth Games medallist, Duncan Free, and public speaker Stewart Gillies, providing us with valuable skills required for presenting in front of a large audience. The event was also a brilliant opportunity to meet other potential future leaders, where we were able to freely discuss our future aspirations and goals as a leader within the local community. I highly recommend this program for Year 12 students.
