Cannes International Film Festival

As part of the Griffith Film School’s Festival Program, students can travel to Cannes International Film Festival to attend events, meetings and workshops and connect with global leaders in the industry. Griffith Film School is the only Australian film school to have a student showcase at Cannes International Film Festival. 2017 marked the ninth year Griffith Film School students have been offered this invaluable opportunity.

Exhibitions and artist talks

Students have access to an exciting calendar of on-campus exhibitions, guest lectures, masterclasses and artist talks. You’ll also have unique opportunities to exhibit, screen and sell your work. Students have the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, including Hollywood Directors Gil Bettman and Mark Travis, multi-Oscar award-winning producer, Lord David Puttnam, and Academy award-winning animator Adam Elliot at Griffith Film School.

Partner Institutions and collaborations

QCA students have access to artist residencies, exhibitions and culture exchanges thanks to our close ties with international education providers such as the Shandong University of Art and Design and Crane Arts Philadelphia. The QCA residency program, established in conjunction with Crane Arts, allows students and staff to visit the United States, stay in a studio, and enhance their work practice by engaging in creative activities in and around Crane Arts and Philadelphia.

Enhance your study by completing part of your degree overseas. Opportunities include various Outgoing Exchange programs. With over 200 partner institutions in 38 countries, there's an exchange to suit every student.

You’ll gain credit towards your degree while enjoying exciting cultural experiences and advancing your professional skills.

Campus tours and school visits

We can arrange for our staff, lecturers or current students to come out to your school and talk to students, highlighting our different areas of study. We can also arrange a broad presentation on careers and pathways into Griffith.

Alternatively, campus tours are a fantastic way of giving students a hands-on experience at the Queensland College of Art. You can arrange a visit at any one of our campuses, take a tour of our new and exciting teaching and research facilities, and meet with our expert lecturers.

Creative short courses

The Queensland College of Art Creative Short Courses program welcomes the general public to learn and practice art in the same friendly and dedicated environment that our undergraduate and postgraduate students enjoy. There are no prerequisites. All creative short courses are open to students of all levels of skill and experience. The courses are designed for those contemplating a degree program or career change; those furthering their amateur practice or looking for professional development opportunities; or for those interested in updating and broadening their skill base.

Most creative short courses are non-accredited courses, which means students will not be assessed or receive credit towards an accredited undergraduate or postgraduate program. All students who satisfactorily finish a creative short course will be issued a certificate of completion.
