Start study this October

At Griffith, we teach across three 12-week trimesters, rather than two semesters, each year. Our trimester system offers you more flexibility and control, with the options of pacing your study to suit your needs, or fast-tracking your degree and getting a head start on your career.

And with multiple intakes each year, you can start when it suits you. Our next trimester begins in October so you don't need to wait until next year to start study.

Trimester 3 is not compulsory for all degrees. You might consider adding courses in Trimester 3 to your study load so you can graduate sooner. Or, you can opt for part-time study across three trimesters, which can give you more time for work and other commitments without adding too much time to the length of your degree*.

Starting university as a mature student

At Griffith, we recognise that not everyone comes to university straight from high school. You might have completed TAFE or other studies first, transferred from a different university, had a gap year after school or decided to start a degree after years of work experience in a different field. We have students of all ages, from late teens and early 20s right through to mature age students in their 70s. More than half our new students are non-school leavers, which means we’re experienced at providing the support you need to achieve your goals, whatever your circumstances.

Admission pathways

Our admission pathway options can help you improve your selection rank, upgrade to your preferred Griffith undergraduate degree or satisfy subject prerequisites. We also have access schemes that can help you gain entry to Griffith.

Credit and recognition of prior learning

Gaining credit and recognition of prior learning may reduce the time it will take to complete your degree. Find out more about the types of learning you may gain credit for, how to apply for credit transfer and examples of credit decisions that have been made in the past.

Undergraduate or postgraduate

Your first degree is an undergraduate or bachelor degree. If you already have a bachelor degree, or if you have extensive professional experience, you may be able to apply for postgraduate coursework. We offer graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and masters by coursework degrees.

Scholarships

With more than 600 scholarships available to cover tuition fees, education and living expenses, it is very worthwhile investigating whether you might qualify to receive one. It's free to apply and you can apply for multiple scholarships with just one application.
