Supporting sustainable Initiatives in food practices

Griffith’s Food Services strive to incorporate sustainable practices into all that they do. Griffith Food supports companies with sustainable practices and is part of the TAG buying group, which ranks companies in relation to their sustainable practices.

  • Griffith Food outlets use food containers made from Bagasse.  Bagasse is waste material made from sugarcane.  It is an environmentally friendly alternative to polystyrene and plastic containers.
  • At Griffith, food waste is a resource with our Closed Loop composting system turning food waste into nutrient rich composting for our campus gardens.

Events and meetings

Griffith's Sustainable Events and Meetings Guide provides a checklist of items to consider when organising your event. It includes tips on selecting venues to organising registration, promotion, event materials, catering, energy, waste and water management, as well as transport strategies.
