Supporting sustainable practices in food and catering services

Griffith’s Food and Catering Services strive to incorporate sustainable practices into all that they do. Griffith Food supports companies with sustainable practices and is part of the TAG buying group, which ranks companies in relation to their sustainable practices.


  • Bring along your own reusable cup and enjoy a discount on every coffee, every day. Griffith’s reusable mug can be purchased from most food outlets across all campuses. *Due to COVID-19 this program is currently suspended until further notice.
  • Griffith Food outlets use food containers made from Bagasse.  Bagasse is waste material made from sugarcane.  It is an environmentally friendly alternative to polystyrene and plastic containers.
  • At Griffith, food waste is a resource with our Closed Loop composting system turning food waste into nutrient rich composting for our campus gardens.
