Learn from the world’s best

Griffith Film School students learn from acclaimed figures such as Hollywood directors Gil Bettman and Mark Travis, Indonesia’s number one filmmaker Garin Nugroho, Academy Award-winning animator Adam Elliot and leading international documentary maker Professor Doe Mayer. Access an exciting calendar of guest lectures and master classes, including by Lord David Puttnam, multi-Oscar award-winning producer.

Get a hands-on education across various digital formats using the most advanced facilities, including a cinema. Acquire a thorough grounding in the history, practice and critical analysis of film. Choose from electives in editing, producing, cinematography, directing, scriptwriting and production design, among many others. You’ll take courses in screen production and screen distribution. You’ll have the advantage of supervised work placement.

Facilities and resources

Excellent facilities include 16mm and high-definition video; studio facilities providing multi-camera and sound stage capacity; motion capture; significant post-production labs and edit rooms; and state-of-the-art sound recording studios.

Practical experience

Build your portfolio and develop vital contacts and networks through our key industry links. Work on projects for real clients through our commercial multimedia production arm, LiveLab, led by BAFTA award-winning creative director Richard Fabb. LiveLab is currently working with local creators to produce global online content in the Queensland Creative Entrepreneurship Program, bringing together YouTube, the Queensland Government and LiveLab to offer content creators world-class skills.

After graduating from Griffith Film School's Bachelor of Film and Screen Media Production, Amanda Eyley has forged a successful editing career in Sydney. She has worked across many popular films including Blinky Bill, Maya the Bee and Lego Batman. She has also worked on the Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road as assistant editor to Margaret Sixel, who won the Academy Award for editing.
