The Graduate Certificate in Suicide Prevention Studies is designed to provide students with a range of experiences that develop and/or update knowledge of suicide prevention, research, attributes and skills.

You'll be exposed to a variety of theoretical, historical, cultural and other frameworks for understanding and working in suicide prevention. This qualification will benefit individuals currently working in or wishing to work in this speciality field across the health, education, law enforcement, emergency, clergy, social, lived experience and peer, and community service sectors. Additionally, it provides a foundation for professions in research, policy or planning.

Griffith offers world-leading postgraduate programs in suicide prevention studies and suicidology to provide you with scientifically based and theoretical knowledge to deal with suicide in an academic, research, policy or practical context. Programs are offered through Griffith's Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP), established in 1996 in recognition of the urgent need to address the nation's suicide problems. In 2005, AISRAP was officially designated as a World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention.
