Be prepared for the future of engineering
Engineers are responsible for conceiving, designing and creating solutions that make a positive contribution to our world. With degrees that span civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical and software engineering, you’ll be able to apply your scientific and mathematical knowledge to an area of your interest.
Our engineering degrees offer industry placements and project-based learning that let you put your skills and knowledge into practice from your first year of study. Plus, you’ll learn in cutting-edge facilities including our brand-new Nathan campus engineering labs.
Study engineering at Griffith
Hear from Dr Andrew Seagar, Associate Professor Cheryl Desha, Associate Professor Steve O'Keefe, Professor Rodney Stewart, Dr Ruby Michael and Dr Peter Woodfield from the School of Engineering and Built Environment, and engineering graduate Matthew Jay.
Engineer from day one
At Griffith your degree is built around hands on, project based learning. Our facilities are purpose built to accommodate the practical and creative nature of the degree.
Common first year
Designed to give you exposure to a range of engineering disciplines, our common first year gives you the chance to experience the different areas you can specialise in before choosing a major later in your first year.
Our engineering degrees incorporate a professional placement, giving you the opportunity to use your skills in the workplace before you graduate.
Multiply your career options
With a range of double degree options available, you can combine your engineering degree with another area of interest without doubling your study time. You'll graduate with a unique skill set that will give you an edge in the employment market.
Tailor your degree to your interests
In our Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), you can choose from a wide range of majors to create a unique skill set and gain the knowledge to land your dream job.
Choose from one of nine majors:

As part of his degree, Thomas did a work placement at Gilmour Space Technologies—an aerospace start-up based on Queensland's Gold Coast—which turned into a full‑time role. He's now a software engineer and part of a team designing and building a rocket set to deploy commercial payloads by 2022. 'I was drawn to the possibility of using my knowledge to better the world in one way or another, so decided to apply for the Bachelor of Engineering at Griffith.'
Classrooms that reflect the workplace
Creating new ways to enhance student learning
Our new Engineering, Technology and Aviation building at Nathan is a space for innovation and collaboration. With the latest in hands-on technology, the building offers engineering, IT and aviation students the opportunity to learn in spaces designed to reflect the workplace.
75% of the fastest growing occupations now require science, technology, engineering or math skills*
With a degree accredited by the national engineering body, Engineering Australia, you’ll be equipped to pursue an engineering career in Australia and overseas.
Depending on your major, you may find opportunities in aviation, construction, manufacturing, natural resources, telecommunications, transport or software development.
