The degree requirements of your program (in Program and courses) will indicate whether there are electives (listed or free-choice) and how many credit points of electives you are required to complete.
The course list of your program indicates at what point in the program you need to complete these electives.
These electives may be chosen from any advertised elective course or from any other study area provided all prerequisites are met and the elective contributes towards the degree requirements of the program.
Free-choice electives must be selected from the same career level, that is, if the program is a bachelor’s degree (undergraduate), you must select courses from other bachelor degree programs and for a master’s degree (postgraduate), courses from other master’s programs must be selected.
When choosing a free-choice elective, select courses in the interest areas you like or ones that will enhance your career options.
Listed (specified) electives
The listed electives will be displayed at the bottom of the course list for your program, normally with instructions on when they should be completed.
