Mental Health First Aid accredited two day course
Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to someone with a mental health problem before they get professional help, or until the crisis resolves.
Two day course offered to students and staff:
- providing appropriate support to someone in the early stages of a mental health issue
- recognising the signs and symptoms of mental health issues
- knowing where to get help and how to refer
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
Mental Health First Aid for the Suicidal PersonCounselling and Wellbeing are now offering a series of ‘Mental Health First Aid for the Suicidal Person’ courses. These 4 hour courses are based on Mental Health First Aid Guidelines for Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviours.
Staff-organised student success and wellbeing workshops
We offer a wide range of workshops, which University staff can have tailored to suit their students' specific interests. Workshops can be run before, during or after lectures or as a component of orientation, mentoring and leadership programs. Our workshops can cover an array of topics, including:
- stress management and self-care
- building resilience
- preparing for placement
- managing exam anxiety
- introduction to mental health and wellbeing
- improving focus.
