Contact us to arrange a counselling appointment or book online. You can call or drop into the Student Services office at your campus. At certain times of the year, demand for our service is high. We will make every effort to see you as soon as possible and you will be offered the first available appointment.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can offer the available appointment to someone else.

Online video appointments
If you’re an off-campus student seeking an online video appointment, email firstname.lastname@example.org from your Griffith student email to organise a booking. To meet securely and confidentially, we use WebEx using audio and video from any computer, most smartphones and tablets.
Emailing a counsellor
If you’d prefer to have email contact with a counsellor, email email@example.com from your Griffith student email. Every effort is made to check these emails regularly and respond as soon as possible, but there may be times this email account can’t be checked daily. Occasionally students may email a counsellor they’ve already seen. While we attempt to respond as soon as possible, counsellors may not be able to respond to you immediately. Please don't use email if you need urgent assistance. For a more immediate response, contact us or connect with a crisis contact. We’re unable to book on-campus appointments via email.
Waiting for your appointment
There’s strong demand for our counselling services and there may be some time before your appointment. You are welcome to contact us from opening time Monday to Friday to register your interest in accessing any appointments for that day that have been cancelled by other students. You may also like to check out our helpful resources while you wait.
There may be times during your studies when personal difficulties impact your academic performance. If you’ve been a client of our counselling service during such times, we may provide documentation to help support your application for an extension, deferred examination, special consideration, withdrawal due to special circumstances or leave of absence. Please note: we can’t provide supporting documentation if you haven’t been our client prior to your application.
We maintain confidentiality at all times and will not disclose anything to anybody about you unless:
- you ask us to do so and this is agreed at interview, or
- you give us written permission to do so, or
- we are required by law to do so. or
- there are compelling reasons such as significant risk to you or someone else.
We keep any confidential documents concerning clients for the required number of years after last contact.
