Launch into Life at Logan (LILAL) – Year 6
LILAL is a year-long careers program comprising school-based lessons which culminate in an on-campus event at Logan, with Griffith student mentors serving as role models at the event. The Program delivers a curriculum-connected careers education program for students from 20 partner schools in Logan and Inala. School partners nominated LILAL for the DETE 2014 Regional Showcase Awards.
True Colours Workshops – Year 9
Based on Follow your True Colours to the Work you Love;(Carolyn Kalil, 2011), the workshops help students to learn more about themselves and occupations of interest. The workshops provide an opportunity for students to learn about and apply career planning processes to help complete their SET plans in Year 10. Trained Griffith student mentors co-facilitate these 60 minute in-school workshops.
Talking Careers – for parents Year 9-10
The Talking Careers workshop program provides parents/caregivers with a greater understanding of career pathway options for their children and raises awareness of resources available for career conversations. Teachers interested in using this resource for parents/caregivers of their students, are encouraged to contact the Careers Outreach Coordinator.
