About the program

Remarkable Leadership Speaker Series is a new leadership development and networking opportunity for academic and professional senior leaders across the University. It features a different external guest speaker each event, who will share their remarkable leadership journey, and provide insight into what has influenced them to become the type of leader they are now.

The series is a great opportunity for senior leaders to hear some new and different perspectives and to build relationships with other senior leaders.

2019's first inaugural guest speaker will be:

Dr Kirstin Ferguson,
Acting Chair Australian Broadcasting Corporation and author of
Women Kind: Unlocking the power of women supporting women

Stan Grant, "On Identity"
We are living through ‘the age of anger’ where resurgent tribalism is pitting people against each other and redrawing the political map in what has been called ‘a 21st century law of the jungle’. At its core is identity - exclusive solitarist identity that is fuelling hate and violence. Stan Grant asks how did the world go from the post-cold war ‘end of history’ to history’s deadly return with resurgent nationalism sectarianism and political extremism threatening to tear our world apart.

Invitations will be sent to Professional and Senior Leaders across the University.
