COMING 2020: MIGRATION OF SHAREPOINT 2013 TO SHAREPOINT ONLINE
Since successfully migrating Griffith staff, student and alumni email accounts to Office 365 (O365), the University has considered moving all other services to O365 including SharePoint, Google Drive and network shared drives.
Support is ending for the current SharePoint 2013 on-premise environment, so a project is underway to migrate sites to O365 SharePoint Online on a "like for like" basis. The project will run between February and September 2020, migrating sites in groups according to complexity.
The migration of H: and Y: Drives, Network shared drives and Google Drive will be reviewed for migration at a later date (post 2020).
- The project team will contact site owners to confirm what sites will be migrating to O365 and when.
- Site owners will need to inform their site users of the migration.
- Site owners will need to test the site after content has migrated.
Griffith staff have access to staff email and the Microsoft 365 suite for the duration of employment. Access is automatically removed effective from the termination date.
It is not possible to have interim access or access beyond the term of employment.
