From 4 - 15 April 2018 the Gold Coast will welcome 6500 athletes and team officials from 70 nations and territories and visitors from all over the world, to compete and enjoy the biggest event Australia will host in more than a decade.

Griffith University Managers will benefit from their staff taking up secondment as staff members will return with real life project management skills in their repertoire to contribute to their university area.
To undertake a secondment position you must be:
- a Griffith professional staff member,
- have received prior approval from your Director; and
- hold a continuing appointment.
Selection ProcessYour application will be reviewed by both GOLDOC and Griffith University as opportunities become available. If your application meets requirements GOLDOC will conduct interviews which will generally take place 1 to 2 weeks after the closing date.

What do I need to consider when applying for secondment?
Does the secondment affect my employment conditions with Griffith University?
The terms and conditions of your employment at Griffith University (including your current salary) will remain the same during your secondment.
However, in undertaking a secondment, you recognise the varying hours of the position due to the nature of the role. As such, Clause 29.4.1 - Span of Hours, and Clause 32.2 - Flexi-time of the Griffith University General Staff Enterprise Agreement have no application for the duration of the secondment.
What documentation will I need to provide when I apply?
One to two page cover letter addressing the skills and experience requirements of the position and how this opportunity aligns with your long term career and development plans. Also include your current CV.
You will also be asked to provide an email from your Director, granting approval to apply for a secondment. Please email your Director requesting approval to apply for a secondment, and PDF the email correspondence before attaching to your application/expression of interest.
