We’re the Presenting Partner of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Marathon, which will include four races—the men's marathon, women's marathon, and men's T54 (para) marathon and women's T54 (para) marathon. It is a free event, open to the public, and all races will be held on Sunday 15 April.

As a sponsor of the annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon, Griffith has long been associated with marathon running, and we’re proud to showcase our city to the world during the GC2018 event.

Griffith University is the Presenting Partner of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Marathon, which will include four medal events—the men's marathon, women's marathon, and men's T54 (para) marathon and women's T54 (para) marathon.

The GC2018 Marathon is a free event, open to the public, and all races will be held on Sunday 15 April. As the marathon is held on the final day of competition, followed by the Closing Ceremony that evening, the event will leave a lasting impression on athletes, as well as spectators from Australia and around the world.

The course will be fast, flat and picturesque, showcasing the best of the Gold Coast cityscape, and highlighting Griffith’s deep commitment to the city. From Runaway Bay in the north, to Burleigh in the south, and along our iconic beachfront, Griffith will be front and centre to the local community, national and international spectators, and a worldwide audience. Scene set for spectacular GC2018 Marathon

A fast, flat and picturesque course was today announced for the marathon at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) which is set to provide a fitting community finale to the Games.

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) Chairman Peter Beattie AC today unveiled the 42.195km road course for the marathon from the southern turn at Burleigh Heads.
