GSBRC are running a series of workshops to support applicants and prospective applicants of external grants. One of these workshop was held on the 29 May at the Logan campus.
'Rejoinders - responding to assessors comments for external grants', provided an opportunity for those who are new to external grant applications to gain an understanding of how the assessment process and the structure works, and was of particular relevance to those who have recently received Assessors' comments on their application.
The ARC College of Experts plays a key role in determining which applications will receive funding. Responding to Assessors' comments on applications through a rejoinder is a critical component in the ARC application process for most schemes. Rejoinders provide applicants with a 'right of reply' to views expressed by external assessors and gives clarification to the panel of experts responsible for determining which applications will be funded.
The workshop provided plenty of opportunity for the participants to ask questions of the presenters, who were able to provide valuable information and insights into the assessment process and presented an example of an actual application.
