This project investigates processes involving flow and transport in the body that have applications in health (e.g. understanding circulation), and medicine (e.g. drug delivery). Our research investigates areas such as: the development of shear stresses due to small-scale features in arteries; transport across skin; controlled release of drugs using magnetic particles; and tissue conductivity effects on transport of electric current through the body.
Theory and modelling by QMNC members have been supported by close collaborations with Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Department of Medicine, University of Tasmania.
