Open Conservatorium is housed within Queensland Conservatorium, which is in the heart of Brisbane's premier arts precinct alongside the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), ABC, Opera Queensland, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Queensland College of Art. Our facilities are among the music industry's finest – acoustically, architecturally and technologically.

With access to leading music educators, musicians and composers with international experience and outlook, you will learn music in an environment that enables you to flourish.

Early Childhood Music

Join a musical learning environment for infants to children, up to seven years of age, in partnership with parents or caregivers. The musical growth of your child is developed through enjoyable and supportive classes, promoting a lifelong love of music.

LiveMusic Queensland Conservatorium

Whatever the style of your event - from an intimate gathering to a lavish affair  - our versatile, Queensland Conservatorium trained musicians provide a memorable soundtrack to every occasion. Our soloists and ensembles have performed to widespread acclaim across a range of musical genres from Classical and Vocal to Latin and Jazz. With first-class training from Queensland Conservatorium, our musicians deliver the highest quality performance in every setting.

Tertiary Preparation Workshops

Stand out from the crowd at your audition with our Tertiary Preparation Workshop. Whether you’re in your final years of high school or a mature age student applying for entry to a university music degree, this program can help you better prepare in all ways for the theoretical and practical requirements of the audition process.

The workshop is held in the June/July school holidays each year.

Score It

Queensland’s leading high school film scoring competition invites students to compose an original score for an animation created by Griffith Film School students. Emerging composers can receive feedback and guidance from Conservatorium academics and alumni, with the most promising submissions receiving a live performance with film by the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.
