Policy Officer, Research Excellence
Claudia's primary role is the compilation and analysis of data for the preparation of the University's Excellence in Research for Australia submission in 2015. Claudia is point of contact for management of data related to ERA and other initiatives designed to enhance the University's research excellence profile such as research impact assessment, university rankings and various institutional research performance assessment exercises. Claudia is also Secretary for the University's Research Committee.
Claudia brings her expertise as a researcher in biological sciences since the 1990s. After completing her PhD at James Cook University, she was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship and several research grants that let to highly recognised international scientific publications. Prior to taking up her current position in the Office for Research, Claudia worked with the Queensland State Government as Senior Scientist in the Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts. Claudia's experience as an active researcher working at different institutions in Australia and overseas provides a relevant broad knowledge necessary to interpret research quality information and to provide advice on ERA and related impact assessment guidelines.
