Success stories

At Griffith, we recognise that not everyone comes to university straight from high school. More than half of our new students are mature students, which means we're experienced at providing the support you need to achieve your goals, whatever your circumstances.

Jordan Pope

Master of Architecture

Jordan Pope always wanted to become an architect since doing subjects like graphics and art in high school. Not getting the OP needed for university when he graduated from high school didn’t deter Jordan and he completed a Diploma of Building Design at TAFE before enrolling in a Bachelor of Environmental Design at Griffith. ‘I enrolled in Environmental Design because it was the pathway to becoming an architect. Then I enrolled in the Masters as it’s a requirement to be recognised as an architect.’

Benita Richmond

Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Government and International Relations

After many years of working in a variety of jobs and raising a family, Benita Richmond (left) decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer. ‘Eventually I found I reached a point in the industry where a lack of tertiary qualifications was holding me back from progressing to more senior roles.’ As her children grew older Benita decided to follow her passion and use her critical thinking and problem solving skills. She has excelled in her studies and was part of the winning team at the 2017 Budapest Vis Pre-Moot.
