To book your IELTS test, decide which module you need to take, select from the dates below and click Book now.

You will be taken to the IELTS Essentials website:

  • Confirm your selection and sign in if you have an existing account, or create an account if you are a new user.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions.
  • Select pay offline and use the provided link to make your payment of the $375 test fee.

We will manually confirm your booking during business hours and email you the confirmation letter.

TEST DAY

We look forward to hosting you on your test day.  Details of the time to arrive and the registration process will be sent to you the day before your test.  Please find general information below.

Griffith University continues to take the threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously. The safety, health and well-being of students, staff and the wider community is our key consideration.  We encourage you to bring with you a face mask that covers your mouth and nose, and wear this during your test. You may be requested to remove this for identification or other purposes. Staff and examiners may also wear a face mask on test day. Hand sanitiser will be available for use on test day and we ask you to comply with the social distancing measures we will have in place.

Test day schedule:

  • 8.00 – 8.30 am: registration
  • 9 am – 12.20 pm: writing, reading and listening tests
  • 12.40 – 6 pm: speaking tests

An offer to take your speaking test on a weekday will be emailed to you. Please follow the instructions on the email to book.

For Saturday speaking tests, you can email a request for an early time slot. Requests must be received no later than the Monday before the test. The time of your speaking test will be advised on Saturday, once you are in the test room.

Bring your passport:

You need a current, valid passport to sit all sections of the IELTS test. No other ID accepted.

What else to bring:

Water bottles are recommended - must be clear plastic with all labels removed. We supply pencils and erasers so do not bring your own stationery. Leave your valuables at home - personal belongings will be locked in a store room, but we accept no responsibility for loss or damage to your belongings.

Parking:

Parking is free on Saturdays. If attending the test centre on a weekday, you can purchase casual daily/hourly parking tickets online or at the ticket machines on site.

Public transport:

The Mt Gravatt campus is conveniently located on the South-East busway and is easily accessible via bus. Please check the TransLink website to plan your journey.

Get familiar with the format of the test and each of the four parts. Make sure to look at how much time you have to complete each test part, what type of questions you might get, the band descriptors and what each band might look like.

Re-marks

You can choose to have your results re-marked for a flat fee of $176 for one or multiple components of a single test. Your original IELTS test report form is required at the time of application.  To apply you can:

  • email us before 12 noon on results release day so we can retain your test report form and send you the application form and payment link
  • email us to request the application form and payment link

The re-marking process usually takes 2 – 3 weeks.  Once completed, we will email you and you can choose to either collect the re-mark report and test report form or have us mail them to you.

If your score/s improve you will be eligible for a refund of the $176 fee.  We will email instructions on how to apply for the refund.  We are not permitted to communicate information about scores by email or phone.

Results

IELTS test results are released on the second Friday following the test. You can choose to receive your results by text message by selecting this option on your my.ieltsessentials account. Collect your results from the test centre between 9 am and 12 noon on release day or preview the results online after 5 pm on release day. All uncollected results are sent by normal mail after 12 noon on release day. If you would prefer to collect your results at a later time or another day, please email ielts@griffith.edu.au so we can assist.
