To find the right type of Australian visa for your needs use the Australian Government's 'Find a visa' website application.
Australian Student Visa
To apply for an Australian Student Visa you must obtain an CoE from Griffith University. This is issued to you after we receive payment of your fees.
The Department of Immigration and Border Protection requires that students who hold an Australian Student Visa and are studying an ELICOS program attend at least 80% of the classes, or the Australian Student Visa may be cancelled or not renewed.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
If you apply for a student visa you are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the time you are here.
Your payment for OSHC should be made together with tuition fees. Your CoE will confirm that the OSHC has been paid.
Griffith University will arrange your OSHC for you.
You will need to pay for OSHC for the duration of your course. You can use the calculator on the Allianz website to work out how much it will cost.
Special notice for Norwegian students
Following discussions between representatives of the governments of Norway and Australia, it has been agreed that Norwegian students studying in Australian educational institutions will in future be covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme, instead of the previously required OSHC scheme.
An CoE is not necessary if you are applying for a non-student visa.
When you start your course please complete the ELICOS Student Address Details form with your current Australian address and telephone number so we can contact you in an emergency. If you change your address, you must give a new form to GELI reception staff within seven days.
This is a requirement for Australian Student Visa holders. This information may be made available to Commonwealth and State Government agencies.
