Information asset register
An Information Asset is a collection of information, defined and managed as a single unit so it can be understood, shared, protected and utilised effectively. It enables users of information to identify the available information resources from a single source and provides information custodians with an overview of the information assets under their care.
Listing our Information Assets in an Information Asset Register ensures that the University's information is identified, defined and organised in a way that will facilitate access to and re-use of this information. An IAR assists to avoid any unnecessary duplication of information, systems and processes.
