Yuping Wang is an internationally known expert in technology enhanced language learning. She has published books and articles on online/distance language learning, blended learning course design and online teacher professional development. Her books and edited books include Distance Language Learning and Desktop Videoconferencing: A Chinese Language Case Study, Preparing for the Digital University: A review of the history, current state of distance, blended and online learning - translation, review and further research and Computer-Assisted Foreign Language Teaching and Learning: Technological Advances. Her journal articles are published in key international journals such as Computers & Education, Language Learning & Technology, Australasian Journal of Educational Technology, Educational Technology & Society, Computer Assisted Language Learning, among others. She serves on the editorial and review boards for a number of international journals in technology enhance learning.
Yuping has convened and taught all campus-based Chinese language courses, and designed, convened and taught all the three levels of the fully online Chinese courses offered through Open Universities of Australia (OUA). In 2009, she received Griffith University Excellence in Teaching Award in the Individual Teaching category. This was followed by a national award, the 2010 Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Citation award.
