Sara's area of research is in Applied Linguistics, and it includes: Integration and use of authentic materials in foreign language learning and teaching, Language learning strategies, particularly strategies training, Impact of students' beliefs on language learning, Out-of-class learning in FL teaching contexts (Language and Community project), Integration and use of CMC in FL teaching and learning, and Impact of students' collaborative use of CMC tools on their language learning. In regards to CMC, her work includes the development, integration and evaluation of approaches to incorporating tools such as blogs and wikis in our Italian Studies program.
