Upcoming eventsAt the sold-out Symposium in February 2016, people with disability spoke out. They want a housing system that includes them and they want action now.
So the topic for our August event is "Housing for people with disability: What does an inclusive housing system look like?"
Griffith University, National Shelter and Queenslanders with Disability Network will present research on what people with disability want in order to find and maintain a place they can truly call “home”. They will also collectively launch a position statement on housing for people with disability and will seek input from delegates for a plan of action. This will be presented to both the State and Federal Governments.
The Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works is concurrently developing their Housing Strategy and Minister for Housing and Public Works, The Hon Michael de Brenni MP will open the event.
More information will be announced via the event website.
