The vision for the School of Dentistry and Oral Health is to enhance its position nationally and internationally as a world-class, research-based school, offering education of the highest quality in the oral health professions and to play a leading national and international role with particular relevance to the community and economy of Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Central to this is our Centre for Personalised Oral Health and Craniofacial Research that undertakes cutting-edge research that is directly applicable to contemporary oral health practice with particular emphasis to the economic, social and cultural well-being of Australia and the greater Asia-Pacific region.
The School has a stable and valued internationally recognised staff profile that delivers high standard contemporary based clinical and Higher Degree Research programs in a stimulating and challenging intellectual environment. The School provides a suite of programs to train dentists, dental specialists, dental technicians, dental prosthetists at the forefront of oral health education enabling students to become competent and caring health practitioners who will meet changing community needs.
The AUS$150 million purpose-built Griffith Health Centre will be the home of your studies at this young and exciting university set in the stunning Gold Coast region of Australia.
Despite its young age, the School of Dentistry and Oral Health is already excelling at providing a world-class education for upwardly mobile and ambitious students in state-of-the-art facilities for students to learn their craft. Programs are fully accredited by the Australian Dental Council for registration as a health professional by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and recognised by the Commission on Dental Education of Canada for registration as a dentist and by New Zealand’s Dental Council via Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition.
The impressive 96-chair dental clinic, commercial dental and clinical skills laboratories, high-level IT facilities, and research facilities are just part of the reason the School has such a fine reputation throughout Australia and beyond.
Offering Master of Dentistry and Bachelor degrees in Dental Technology and Dental Prosthetics right through to a Master of Clinical Dentistry or Doctor of Clinical Dentistry and PhDs, there are courses for all levels to kick off your Dentistry career. All courses are informed by the latest research – also conducted at the School – and evidence-based modern practices.
Griffith has forged invaluable collaborations with a number of international institutions meaning research and expertise can be shared between organisations, ensuring students get the very best out of their learning experience. These are hugely beneficial for PhD students, giving them the chance to travel and gain valuable expertise and international exposure.
