Ever wondered what it was like to go behind the scenes of a press conference? Coordination of relations between sport organisations and media has become a specialised exciting realm of sport management. Specialist people are now required to coordinate a sport organisations media strategies to sport journalists, reporters and editors, to plan press conferences and work with sport celebrities (talent) which are all viewed as pivotal components of a sport organisation’s marketing communications campaign. This session is designed to provide you with an understanding of the interesting role that Sport Media Managers now play in a sport organisation and the opportunities that are now rapidly expanding for women in this field. This session will introduce you to the various elements within sport media that include journalism, public relations, and crisis management.

This session will provide some insight into the adult elite sport environment and the pressures placed on athletes choosing to enter this field.
