After more than a decade of supporting high quality research through its Urban Research Program, Griffith University has committed to the next phase of support through the establishment of the Cities Research Centre. Designed to become the pre-eminent Australian centre for trans-disciplinary research on the integration of infrastructure, place making and community and economic development in cities, the new Centre fills a gap in the current research landscape.
By building on our existing strengths and forging new partnerships with industry, government and community organisations we are well placed to help meet the challenges faced by contemporary cities. The range of our expertise and experience is captured in our three core themes of intelligent infrastructure, quality places and transforming communities and these will guide our research in the future.
The Cities Research Centre addresses the needs of government, industry and communities in meeting the policy challenges facing Australian cities in their Asia-Pacific regional context. The Centre’s research is structured around three broad thematic streams that work across a range of research groups reflecting the challenges facing cities.
