Dr Leander Mitchell

Dr Leander Mitchell is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist whose field of practice has focused particularly on the neuropsychological assessment of people aged 40 years and over. She also provides therapy and assessment services to adults and older adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, adjustment to significant life changes (e.g. retirement, grief, etc), and caregiving-related concerns.

With regards to assessment, she primarily sees cases related to queries of dementia and normal ageing, as well as within other contexts such as brain injury, stroke, capacity assessments, and changes in cognitive function related to chronic and acute medical conditions and developmental issues. Dr Mitchell works within a strengths-based framework designed to enable and encourage functioning at as high a level as possible in the individual's current context, therefore building on the individual's sense of self-efficacy and well-being.

Michelle Parker-Tomlin

Michelle is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychology Society. She holds a Clinical Psychology PhD and is in the final stages of completing her Clinical Psychology Registrar program. She has experience supporting clients across the lifespan with a range of mental health challenges.  She has worked in rural and remote settings with Indigenous populations and within the general population in hospital, aged care, rehabilitation, private practice, and research settings.

Michelle has conducted research, been invited to speak and present posters at national and international conferences, published book chapters and peer reviewed journal articles on interprofessional practice and clinical decision-making. She practices a client centred approach to evidence based treatments, using goal driven case formulations. She primarily utilises Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing and has experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Mindfulness. She has in-depth experience administering and interpreting cognitive, academic and neuropsychological assessments for children and adults.

Chris Dykstra

Chris Dykstra is a Registered Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. He is currently completing his Clinical Psychology Registrar Program and is in the final stages of completing his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology. He has experience supporting individuals across the lifespan with a range of psychological and educational/occupational difficulties, in private and hospital-based settings. Chris practices primarily within Cognitive-Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment, Schema and Attachment Therapy frameworks. He has experience conducting comprehensive intellectual, learning and psychological assessments in children and adults.

Chris has particular clinical interests in childhood attachment and learning. His doctoral research is investigating how aspects of visual processing may contribute to different types of reading deficits and individual’s capacity for remediation from Dyslexia. He has also published peer-reviewed research articles on how older adults compensate for age-related cognitive and health difficulties during driving.
