Keith Grimwood

Professor Keith Grimwood is a paediatric infectious diseases physician who graduated from Otago University in NZ and undertook paediatric training in Christchurch, NZ and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne before undertaking a post-doctoral fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Calgary. He has held academic positions as Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne, Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Otago-Wellington, Conjoint Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Queensland and was the Inaugural Director of the Queensland Children’s Medical Research Institute. His current roles are Deputy Head (Research), School of Medicine and Dentistry, Griffith University and Conjoint Professor of Infectious Diseases at Griffith University and Gold Coast Health. As a clinical researcher he has published more than 300 papers, book chapters and reports on topics that include respiratory viral and gastrointestinal infections, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis lung disease, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bronchiectasis, meningitis, neonatal sepsis, urinary tract infections and vaccine-preventable diseases.
