Katrina Avery has worked as a corporate and commercial lawyer and corporate finance and human resources consultant in Australia and internationally. At Griffith Enterprise she manages the commercialisation, intellectual property and enterprise activities in the University's Law and Criminology Schools, and steers external contracting and industry partnerships in the Human Services school and related research centres.

Scott Baxter specialises in contract management, finance and intellectual property management. He has managed commercial research projects partnering with small-to-medium enterprise to international governments, guiding each project every step of the way.

Steven Chambers has more than 20 years’ experience in technology transfer, business development and commercial enterprise. He has worked extensively in the higher education sector and, during his time at Griffith Enterprise, has coordinated a series of high-value consultancy and commercial research transactions.

Specialising in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Ujjwal Dua has extensive experience in commercialisation, medical research and pharmaceutical sales and marketing. At Griffith Enterprise Mr Dua manages intellectual property and commercialisation activities for Griffith’s life science research across our research institutes and schools.

Brigitte Hallam is an intellectual property specialist with experience in business development and commercial enterprise in the life sciences industry. Specialising in biotechnology, health, intellectual property and research commercialisation, she is passionate about finding solutions for important public needs.

Kylie joined GE after 11 years with the School of ICT. During that time she accumulated an enormous amount of experience in technology project management, human resources and administration. Kylie will be involved, at some level, in nearly all of GE's projects.

Naveed Khan has extensive commercial experience in business development, strategy, consulting and technology transfer. At Griffith Enterprise he manages technology transfer, consulting and enterprise activities across the Health portfolio and is the key contact for those interested in delivering short courses specifically targeted at health professionals.

He has extensive senior executive experience, operating successfully in innovation intensive, professional service and investment environments.

Glen Miller is Griffith Enterprise’s legal counsel on all commercialisation matters. He has more than 20 years’ commercial and legal experience, covering an array of fields across horticulture, aquaculture and livestock-related technologies, and corporate and criminal law.

Carlie Rogers has experience in developing strategic partnerships in Canada, the United States and Latin America, working as Business Development Manager for the Queensland Government. Her role at Griffith Enterprise is to help stakeholders in the Business and Education sectors find solutions to challenges through Griffith University research.

Amanda Smith is experienced in technology transfer, business development and commercial enterprise, with expertise in health systems. At Griffith Enterprise she develops commercial contract projects and tender and proposal submissions to third parties on behalf of internal clients.

Hamish Townsend

Marketing Communications Events/ Senior Commercial Projects Officer

Hamish Townsend is an experienced media, communications and marketing professional, having worked across the world in television, radio, newspapers and web. He joined Griffith in 2011 as a communications specialist for the Health group and joined Griffith Enterprise in 2015. Hamish began working as a senior commercial projects officer in 2017 and divides his time between those roles.

Sarah Wainwright has more than 10 years’ experience in processing and assisting intellectual property and patent law. Specialising in the management of IP and trademark documentation, she is part of the commercial projects team and manages the intellectual property portfolio register.
