Providing local startups and entrepreneurs with resources, networks and mentors

Griffith University, along with Logan City Council and Redland City Council, are the lead partners in the Queensland State Government's Advancing Regional Innovation Program which aims to turn our regions into hubs for innovation and enterprise.

The $1 million matched funding program will enable local entrepreneurs, business leaders and key industries to collaborate closely and with government to harness innovation and unlock business potential, strengthen existing industries and prepare regional Queenslanders for jobs of the future.

The establishment of innovation spaces across the region, including the Griffith University Logan campus, will bring together students, community and industry partners and provide local startups and entrepreneurs with resources, networks and mentors.

Griffith University Pro Vice Chancellor and Head of Logan campus Linda O’Brien said the project was a great opportunity for the region. 'We know success comes from challenging the norm, from adapting and innovating, from creating new trends and pioneering solutions. “I am absolutely delighted to be working with such great partners to advance Queensland by harnessing innovation to diversify the economy and create jobs.'

Our initiatives

GLO@Logan High School Challenge

Griffith University is pleased to host the annual GLO@Logan Entrepreneurial Challenge.

The three-day experiential challenge provides students the ability to generate creative and innovative concepts and solutions, with this year’s challenge focusing on topical environmental issues in regional Queensland.

Students are encouraged to apply an entrepreneurial mindset to solve the issue using STEAM principles—science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

Entrepreneurship Seminar Series

Join us at the Griffith University Logan campus each month and we hear from leading academics and industry experts, as they cover a wide range of business topics relevant for 'start up' businesses and small to medium enterprises.

Myriad Digital and Innovation Festival

In May 2018 Griffith University showcased community support and engagement as a partner of the Advancing Regional Innovation program at this month’s Myriad Festival.

Each year the program highlights the game-changing work being done by a group of innovative regional start-ups and entrepreneurs.
